Secularism, the keystone of the republican edifice, the institutional foundation of individual freedoms and equal rights, and the driving force behind the integration of citizens of all origins, is, today as in the past, the indispensable foundation of civil peace and national unity.
Current events in France, Europe and beyond demonstrate the urgent need for our people to rediscover the fundamental principles of the Secular Republic. Principles that call for a collective effort to achieve emancipation for all, that oppose any religious or dogmatic reference for laws and public institutions, and that reject all clericalism, all fundamentalism, all racism in the Republic.
