- Creating a network of freethinkers in Europe, who share humanist values and wish to contribute actively to the construction of the European project
- Promote and defend free thought in particular within the European institutions, in accordance with the principles set out in the AEPL Charter
- Getting involved in Article 17 dialogue of the Treaty of Lisbon (TFEU) alongside other non-denominational philosophical associations and religious denominations
- Ensuring the separation of State and churches in the European area and promoting it outside the EU
- Promoting a civic society in which communication between different cultures is based on dialogue and mutual respect, and not to give free rein at European level to religious and denominational forces alone
- Defending and promoting rights and freedoms expressed in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union
- Combating populism and nationalism that threaten peace
- Promotingthe rule of law and fundamental freedoms inside and outside the EU.
