Ukraine, behind the scenes

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, continuing the operation it began in 2014 with the annexation of Crimea.

Sovereignty and land borders have been fundamentally violated in the process. Two eastern provinces have already been annexed after a bogus referendum. The West, led by NATO, reacted immediately with unconditional support for Ukraine.

In the meantime, the conflict has spread and we are potentially on the brink of a third world war, with nuclear danger. The only winners seem to be the military-industrial complex: the arms factories are firing on all cylinders.

Some believe that the Ukrainian people do not need arms, but peace. Others believe that peace cannot be negotiated from a position of weakness.

We are looking at how we can contribute to peace through our working group, while keeping a close eye on all the news about the conflict.
