Secular Action Centre

Drafted by representatives of a dozen secular associations, the statutes of the Centre d'Action Laïque were signed in 1969. Its aim was to defend and promote secularism in French-speaking Belgium.

Since 1969, The Centre d'Action Laïque has a threefold mission in French-speaking Belgium:

  • It coordinates the actions of the various associations and the seven regional CALs in different areas;
  • It promotes secular ideals and seeks to stimulate new services;
  • It represents the movement in dealings with the public authorities and third parties.
